My bandcamp url-address has changed

I updated my old bandcamp address (scarecrow.bandcamp.com) to arello.bandcamp.com in order to clarify the names of my projects a bit. If anyone ever in the future decides to choose my former address, they might get surprised by the redirects from strange links (e.g. old links that I might not fix). In the future I try to use my musician name Aeroll (or its original anagram Arello) in “formal” contexts from now on. Some links will be broken for a while now, but the change shouldn’t affect embedded players. (If they’re broken, refreshing the page will likely fix them.)

A bit of background on this mess: I’ve been using the Arello nickname since the noughties in various contexts. In 2012 when I originally set up my project sites (such as bandcamp and my first blog) I didn’t think I’d use it as the name of my music projects because it somehow didn’t feel right. I also still had ambitions to make music possibly as part of some kind of line-up that wouldn’t necessarily be focused solely around my solo projects. The former url of my Bandcamp-site (“scarecrow”) was basically an English translation of the name of my first blog, in case I would post albums from several different bands. In practice, however, the page has remained exclusive to my own solo projects.

The artist name of my solo projects was also initially Parus Aero, which I wasn’t happy with even back then, but it was temporarily chosen for lack of a better one. In 2019, I decided to switch to Aeroll (with various stylized variations). It might have been more consistent to use the name Arello from the beginning, but on the other hand, I have mainly wanted to make an organised distinction in my mind between the different projects and other uses of my nickname. This is of course a very esoteric solution for the potential audience, but it hasn’t really bothered me.
