My current synth setup

Arturia MicroBrute, Roland Fantom X8, Roland SE-02, Novation Summit, Korg R3, AXiS-49

A few days ago I got an update for my synth arsenal: Novation Summit is the newest addition here. Almost all of my synths have been bought second-hand so far except this one. It was a big investment but it’ll probably do its job very well. I’ve been longing for a real polysynth with a proper aftertouch for a while. Roland Fantom X8 has also aftertouch but you barely notice its existence since it needs superman powers to push, and it’s a sampler-based synth anyway.

My Korg R3 has served me well for more than a decade and I have learned the basics of sound synthesis with it. But it has worn out with time quite much etc. AXiS-49 MIDI-keyboard was also an interesting addition many years ago. Arturia MicroBrute and Roland SE-02 have been bought closer in recent years after I got bitten by analogue syndrome. Summit is also mostly analogue. It has digital oscillators but free editing of waveforms/wavetables makes up nicely for that…

I also own other more rarely used instruments like Roland Juno-D LE, but it is not in my apartment and also not up to its standards for my audio production anymore. It’s even older and more broken than my R3, and Fantom does everything it can do.

PS. I also updated my audio script to work better when things go wrong in Linux session.
